公益社団法人 日本鍼灸師会の紹介
本会は、昭和25年9月に全国鍼灸懇談会として発足同年11月30日に参議院会館において日本鍼灸師会結成大会(創立総会)が行われました。
翌26年3月25日には日本鍼灸師会会報(昭和28年4月日本鍼灸新報と改題した)を創刊し、5月10日に社団法人の認可を得ました。（平成２２年９月１日より 公益社団法人へ移行）
10月には、全国規模の日本鍼灸治療学会を発足させ第1回の学術大会を慶応大学において開催しました。(昭和56年5月より(社)全日本鍼灸学会と改称されまして現在も本会とは、別に鍼灸学理のみを追及する団体として活動し毎年学術大会を開催しています。平成２５年より 公益社団法人へ移行) 昭和27年1月に厚生省後援による第1回学術講習会を開講し現在も続いています。
また、健康保険取扱の緩和、鍼灸の単独立法の実現等を政府に働きかけております。
全国47都道府県鍼灸師会と協調して、会員の資質の向上と、鍼灸師の社会的地位の向上や国民に対して鍼灸医学の啓発のため活動をしております。
今後の、鍼灸界のよりよい発展のためにも多くの鍼灸師の団結と力添えが必要と痛感しますので、会員の暖かいご支援と共に、まだ入会されていない方も是非参加されて我々と共に力を合わせ目的を達成させようではありませんか！
The Japan Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association was established in 1950, originating from a nationwide professional gathering of practitioners. The inaugural General Assembly was held at the House of Councilors Hall, marking the beginning of a national organization dedicated to advancing acupuncture and moxibustion in Japan.
Since its foundation, the Association has promoted both academic development and professional practice. In 1951, it launched its official journal to support the dissemination of clinical knowledge and research. The Association was formally authorized as an incorporated body the same year and, in 2010, transitioned to a Public Interest Incorporated Association, reflecting its ongoing commitment to public health and social responsibility.
From its early years, the Association supported the establishment of a nationwide academic society dedicated to acupuncture and moxibustion research, which later developed into The Japan Society of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (JSAM). JSAM continues to operate independently as an academic organization devoted to the advancement of acupuncture science and holds annual scientific congresses. In 1952, the first government-supported academic training program was initiated, and educational activities have continued without interruption to the present day.
Working in cooperation with prefectural acupuncture and moxibustion associations across all 47 prefectures of Japan, the Association strives to maintain high professional standards, promote evidence-informed clinical practice, and enhance public understanding of acupuncture and moxibustion as a form of traditional medicine integrated within Japan’s healthcare system.
The Association has also engaged in policy advocacy, contributing to improvements in insurance coverage and the institutional recognition of acupuncture and moxibustion practice.
Looking toward the future, we believe that the continued development of acupuncture and moxibustion depends on the unity and collaboration of practitioners. We warmly invite both current members and those who have not yet joined to participate in our shared mission to advance traditional medicine and protect public health.
本会の目的及び事業内容（定款より抜粋）
本会は、鍼灸学術を振興し、鍼灸業務を通じて健康・福祉の増進、公衆衛生の向上に関する事業を行い、もって国民の健康と福祉の向上に寄与することを目的とする。
